My favourite part about this thread is that mere hours after the birth of his son, Wolt was telling Heston that We Built This City on Rock and Roll is garbage.

The stuff about the pedal point and build-up of tension is spot on. When it reaches the "Marconi" line it explodes like a shuddering orgasm. Glad to see a musical expert agrees with me.
I had never noticed that. Pretty nifty trick.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I had to learn the chords and stuff when I did my cover, it's a quite complex song.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Thereby proving the lie of Heston's "subversion thesis." Renounce, Heston!

Didn't know they made a cider called ''Shot Away''.

I usually drink Stowford Press when I have cider on tap. And Blackthorn from cans.
