I know Pauline said she didn’t really like working with that lineup of the band, but it’s a hell of an album anyway.

The Selecter were a band that kind of faded after there first album (true of much of Two Tone) but went on to release some really good stuff. I wish the would do a US tour.

The Selecter were a band that kind of faded after there first album (true of much of Two Tone) but went on to release some really good stuff. I wish the would do a US tour.

Well Two Tone was a Label not the name of a musical style. With The Specials giving a leg up to the other bands using their label.

Madness (Stiff) The Selecter (Chrysalis) The Beat (Go Feet).

The second Selecter album is brilliant as are the follow up albums by Madness and The Beat. So I disagree any of those bands faded after their debut least of all The Selecter.

Popularity to the mass appeal don't count for much. Seriously good band. That second album is great. But yeah I understand what you're getting at.
