I think I probably hate Pink Floyd fans more than I hate the band.

Dark Side and Wish You Were Here are really strong records. After that, I couldn't really give a toss. I always thought The Wall was claptrap really, apart from like 2 or 3 songs, and the movie was crap too. I'm not a Floyd hater but not the biggest fan either other than those 2 albums. My first exposure to them was a buddy of mine who made me a cassette of whatever album has Careful With That Axe, Eugene and that tape/album didn't thrill me at all back then.
From what I see there's still a little hope

I love the Syd era. Piper at the Gates of Dawn is favourite of mine.

Blondie Chaplin and Ricky Fataar should join Pink Floyd.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Seems like that has pretty negative implications for music as a cultural force when you think about it.

Probably a decent time to abolish music since there's no new ideas left anyway.

Yeah, I'd say so. Or at least how consumer capitalism has shaped how we approach art and artists. But I'm mostly serious that the most annoying artist is not worse than their most annoying fan.

Okay, maybe there are exceptions.

Have they tried *frantically checks notes* neo-classical-trap-thrash-samba yet?
