So- how didn't I know the new Wire was out?

I'd emphasize the more "Bruce" stuff then. Nothing wrong with Wire's poppy side—one could make an excellent compilation of their melodic stuff—but they're less distinct in that realm, imo.Kory wrote:He's fairly open minded, though I do find his taste inscrutable at times. The mathematics of Wire are complicated. "Wire - The Complicated Compilation".Kory wrote:I'm fucked. I have like 5 tracks per album.Dr. Medulla wrote:Okay, here's my stab at 18. No idea about whether it would fit on one cd, so whatever. I went thru the albums and allowed myself no more than three picks per. That got me to 28, which I then whittled down, partly by excising the longer tracks. No order except for how I encountered them:
Boiling Boy
Eardrum Buzz
Sand In My Joints
Too Late
Doubles & Trebles
Our Swimmer
Ahead
A "Serious" of Snakes
Drill
Children of Groceries
Reuters
Pink Flag (one of the Third Day versions or a live cut from the same era)
A Question Of Degree
Mr Marx's Table
Read & Burn
Swallow
Two People In A Room
Map Ref 41 Degrees N 93 Degrees W
And the ones I chopped:
99.9
Silk Skin Paws
Practice Makes Perfect
Strange
Stealth of a Stork
Time Lock Fog
Former Airline
Underwater Experiences (from Strays)
40 Versions
Gravity Worship
Moreover
Forces have been looting
My humanity
Curfews have been curbing

As far as I know, nothing's been recorded, so … yeah, doubtful.

So—did you hear that a new Wire is coming out? The teaser track on their Soundcloud page is pretty cracking, imo.
