"Outdoor Miner" just came on shuffle. What a great song.

That is all.

Indeed. Apart from the lyrics, Wire doesn't get much more pop than that. It almost charted in the UK, but EMI was accused of "hyping" it (code for payola?) and withdrew it.

Then again, critics also thought John Zorn was a great sax player. (Fuck critics)
Nice edit, Dr. Melissa.

I swear, I had nothing to do with that page.

Some guy recorded a bunch of covers from the Harvest albums. Generally good, with some very listenable mutations.

Pretty snazzy. Nice to hear a new take on Question of Degree — one of my favourites.

Yeah, that one stood out for me. Sticking just to singles, QoD has got to be Wire's best, especially if you consider the excellent b-side, "Former Airline."

Y'know, I'm listening to Manscape right now, and it's really not bad. It gets harshed on, but I'm quite enjoying the atmosphere of it.

You have passed the Final Test. Pick up your scarlet robe from Percy at the end of the room.

I'd say it's about one-third pretty good, one-third um, okay, and one-third WTF. The "Life in the Manscape" b-sides are generally better than much of the proper album. The live versions from that period are also better than the album (for notorious studio rats, Wire's live versions are oddly often better than the official releases).

Goodbye...adios

I still need to pick up Coatings. Is it worth having? It seems like a lot of it is just alternate mixes except for including Gravity Worship...
