Always thought his cover of RTC with Pato Banton was top notch...

That's great. I like it better than the original.

Hadn't heard that before. That was pretty cool.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Absolutely gutted by this. Back in the MySpace days, we started chatting for some reason and he was really kind.

Only 56, ffs.

Saw him at The Cluny 2 years ago, great gig. Also heard him on Liz Kershaw's 6 Radio show a couple of months ago and he was on good form.
Yeah, that surprised me. Didn't realize he was that young.

Funny how 50 can seem old when you're in your 20s.
He was literally a kid when The Beat released their first single with 2 Tone.

Sad, sad news. Like other members here, I was shocked when I found out.

I read today that when The Beat first played in Europe one of the Blockheads had to be Ranking Roger’s legal guardian as he was still only 16!!!
