I hesitate to call the Strokes even fine. I listened to that first album based on the hype and didn't get the big deal at all.WestwayKid wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 1:57pmAnd The Strokes.

I was going to argue then realized I basically only listen to their singles.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 1:51pmSiouxsie and the Banshees. Decent band, some cool singles, and one great album (Dreamhouse), but on the whole? They were okay.

I only listen to chant nowadays. Gregorian, Byzantine, Russian...
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I drink Narragansett cold for my cheap tall boy beer.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑02 Nov 2018, 12:46pmLook at the fucking hipster over here, with his can of warm PBR, lumberjack beard, Walkman, and opinions.

I tend to be pretty binary with music, but there are those that fall in the middle ground that neither enrage nor excite. Many of those listed thus far fall in this category. I like the Pretenders but I don't own any of their music. Never bought an album nor single. I have one Siouxsie CD and enjoyed her set the time I saw her live but I'm not going to get the complete discography. The Stones have some great songs but a lot of crap too especially for the last 30+ years don't own any recordings of theirs. And by own I mean no actual physical media, not digital files acquired by extra legal means.

But I agree. Historically vital and some classic songs, but the extent of their catalogue dilutes matters significantly.

I used to drink Narragansett only for the puzzles on the inside of the bottlecaps.
