The footage remains maddeningly elusive, but the B-52's doing "Rock Lobster" on SNL in 1979 or 1980 is mesmerizing.

The antithesis of the high street shop of thee same name as the song performed, they weren't called The Sensational Alex Harvey band for nothing, a great performance from 73'ish, Alex was a brilliant performer, those lyrics are amazing, imaginative and pretty dark, a crying shame he died so young

Yeah, I think that's why I like it.
Its the improv that makes it too, I've heard the recorded version so many times but I never get tired of it, BTW John, that Clash video you popped up on Youtube has been blocked by NBC Universal for copyright reasons, bastards, but you probably got the memo by now.
