This band are hardly ever talked about on here and they are fucking great. On a good day they are my favourite 60s band, yes, better than the Beatles and the Kinks.

On a good day I would completely agree with you. Awesome band. Always loved this track and the promo video is great. The tone on Marriott's guitar is freaking awesome and the look Ronnie Lane gives the camera around 1:00 is priceless!

It is almost definitely Song Of a Baker.

Which is basically Andy Partridge before Andy Partridge.

Terrific band, but I don't really listen to much of their stuff anymore, unlike the Faces, who are in constant rotation (cue Marriott vs. Stewart debates :shifty: ).

'Ogden's Nut Gone Flake', however, is one of my all-time desert island top 20 (maybe 10) albums: every song perfect, I love each of them equally (even the instrumental title track), look forward to each one coming up when listening to the album. Can't say that about even most of my other faves.

I don’t think there is a debate in Marriott vs. Stewart, because anyone picking Stewart does not deserve a serious refutation, as the opinion is stupid wrong.

Yeah, Rod couldn't lace Steve's boots! I can't stand Rod's voice while Marriott is probably my favourite singer ever. Was never a fan of the Faces at all.

Comparing two singers from the same band is natural, understandable and plausible, and if anyone says there's a debate, then by definition there is one, whether you choose to engage in it or not. But I've learned not to tussle with the Thought Police, officer. ;)

I prefer Ronnie Lane's voice to both of them.

I think Rod has one of the most criminally wasted voices in rock. He's not a bad singer - but he's spent decades making music that isn't so great. Steve was/is an overall superior musician and possessed maybe the best voice in rock history, but I also feel like the Small Faces/Faces comparison isn't as clean cut as some might propose...really two different bands that shared 3 members. I really like some of the stuff the Faces did, but despite being called the Small Faces on the cover of First Step - definitely not the same band... ;)

You’re not owed a debate for saying something stupid, you idiot.

(Also, the Faces are kind of dull outside of a handful of tracks)

Same band, different vibes.

What'd I say that was stupid, you exemplar of civil discourse?
