The Sex Pistols. There. I said it.
That's a tough one - but I agree.
Is this really a controversial viewpoint? I don’t think anyone waxes nostalgic about any Pistols reunion tours beyond sheer nostalgia.
I agree in principle however as so few people ever saw them live it is justified. And as Heston said that first Finsbury Park show was great.

The Who probably would’ve been better served artistically if they did the Zeppelin move of packing it in when the drummer died.

After reading all these posts I cant help but ask for good examples of reunions? I've not seen any first hand.

That was a good one. The Replacements were great and didn’t beat it to death.

Wire and Swans, and not just because of my fandom. Swans especially have produced the best music of their history.

ATCQ?
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Seconded. I guess it's great that they're out there playing live, but they're a different band w/o Kim Deal & everything they've recorded since getting back together is not good.

I've liked everything Wire's done since the re-boot. Sure, maybe it's not as adventurous as the previous stuff but I dig it anyway.

What about INXS when they reformed with that reality show guy? Was that technically a reunion or a continuation? Either way - terrible idea.

I've liked what Crowded House has done since getting back together. 2 really good albums and their live shows have been really, really good. Looks like they are back on hiatus as Neil Finn is now a member of Fleetwood Mac, however.

Midnight Oil - though I don't think they put out any new music - were really solid on their reunion tour.

I detest Object 47, the first post-Bruce record, which I chalk up to a certain identity crisis. But Send, their first 21st c record is my favourite Wire album, and Change Becomes Us comes close to capturing the period when the songs were originally conceived (the late 70s). Otherwise, yeah, not pathbreaking, but steady good to very good albums.
