Whelp, I just emailed her and committed to joining. It's definitely going to be a "trial period" in my mind. If the stuff we produce isn't very good, I'm going to jump ship, but she seems to be into Go4 and Magazine among others, so I'm cautiously optimistic. The real challenge will be in not sounding too much like another band.
I think this sounds like a reasonable approach. Good luck and keep us posted! Remember us little people when you're famous!

Thank you. I'm also anxious that I just won't have time for it between my two jobs and all. We'll see...

Wish you all the best mate. But personally I think that band sound awful. They come across as completely forced.

I think you are a fine musician and should start your own band with like minded people.

Kinda sounds like we have consensus here that Kory is clearly the best part of this band.

Kory has very interesting tastes in music with his love of jazz, post punk, prog etc. He is very capable of producing something way more interesting and challenging than that band.

Oh yeah he could get a double concept albums worth of material out of that.

I'm definitely back to hating prog then.

I think it should be called "The Correct Use Of Dope" and it should come in a limited edition pizza box.

Well the idea is that we're starting over from scratch. I think I have to play two outstanding shows with the old material because we won't have time to write anything new, but after that, it's all-new material with the same band name. We've talked about our mutual interest in Gang of Four, Magazine, etc. so hopefully something will come of that which is good without being derivative.

But yeah, I'm certainly worried that the songwriting chemistry won't be there. In which case I guess I'll jump ship.

I'm all for Kory giving it a go and subverting shit into his own agenda.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
