Hello,
RIP. I saw the Smithereens a year ago(?). They were very good but Pat did not look healthy (very heavy, not very mobile).

Yeah, I saw some recent photos and he didn't look well. I know he had some arm issues back in 2015 - something about a fall that caused nerve damage in his arm and hand. He could not play guitar until he had surgery to correct the damage. It was mentioned in one obituary that he suffered some sort of illness that led to his weight gain - but it did not elaborate.
Too bad. They were a band that should have been bigger - but it just didn't happen. Especially For You, Green Thoughts, and 11 are classics. Solid from front to back.
