We had to meet the enemy a mile away
Thunder in the air and the sky turned grey
Assembling the knights and their swords were sharp
There was not a hope in your English hearts

I’m not even going to read it!
D’oh
There is a word in German and I think it said it all.
Forces have been looting
My humanity
Curfews have been curbing
The end of liberty
We're the flowers in the dustbin...
No fuchsias for you.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
I knew it would be you. All signs pointed to Hoy, but I knew it would be you.
Certainly crossed my mind. I only had time for one post today and went for the CR is better than RP post that no one responded to.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

CR is better than RP, only certifiable lunatics think otherwise. A compromise would be adding Kill Time and Beautiful People to the running order and using the long mix of Inoculated City. That would do me.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board
I've long been a huge fan of The Church. They have so many great songs - but this one is incredibly sublime - from start to finish. Marty Willson-Piper's rich, 12 string acoustic, Peter Koppes emotive, textured electric, Kilbey's melodic bass line, Ploog's understated drumming...and topped with Kilbey's cooly detached croon.
Song is also perfect during the party seen at the end of Donnie Darko - just a perfect match of music, mood, and imagery. I was a little bummed when they released the director's cut and some of the music was swapped around. Under the Milky Way was replaced with Echo's The Killing Moon (another damned near perfect song)...but I prefer the original scene.

Both Muppet Hi-fi and Me are fans. My faves "When You Were Mine" and their cover of Alex Harvey's "Faith Healer"
are awesome.

"In the intro to Everything Counts by Depeche Mode, you can hear a quiet rendition of the song's melody. Gives me chills," said JennyB, the only DM fanatic on IMCT (except for maybe Rattie).
Also, when Bowie sings the whole "Don't Fake it Baby" verse in Moonage Daydream, it just does something to me.
Got a Rake? Sure!

I rep harder for Modern Love than anyone I know, but I think it has several sublime moments. Including
"I know when to stay in"
"But I try... I try"
And the echoing backing vocals through the choruses.
