I was speaking gernerally about the "Radiohead sucks" side. I'm not saying everyone has to love Radiohead, only that most of the time the negative comes off as dogma and mantra. If you made an honest effort and it didn't work for you, fair enough, you're not obliged. It,s more that I normally get the impression that the rejection of Radiohead is more a dislike of their fans and the critical fawning (i.e., socio-cultural rather aesthetic).
I just dislike the whining hobbit who does the singing.
Depeche Mode us a strange one for me. I like their early stuff (saw them live in 84), but the moment they got "serious" was when I lost interest.
That's OK. Like most of your fellow countrymen, you are obliged to dislike DM.
Hey now I think they are great and have more of their records than you.
We shall see about that.
...off to shop quick to buy more Depeche Mode CD's..

I promise this will be the last I say on the subject, but DM has sold out the Hollywood Bowl for four nights, something no other band has done. How the hell are they not in this thing?

Bumping this thread for a myriad of reasons (also missed it the first time). Mostly to shit on DM. Matt Patrol and I got in a debate on facebook on the Doors vs. DM. My argument was that DM had "Just Can't Get Enough" and...a bunch of really drab stuff that is a real chore to listen to. Blasphemous Rumors? Uggggh. Radiohead>DM for me. And I don't even like Radiohead that much.

Hey, to each their own. They didn't get in anyway.

Bah, no fun are you!
Though I like Bon Jovi, I know they aren't good and really have no place ahead of so many of these bands/artists.
I'm kind of baffled how a debate would arise pitting the Doors vs. Depeche Mode. Both use keyboards, I guess, but it seems an odd match-up.
Next: Gordie Howe vs. Teddy Kennedy—who ya got?
Maybe because both singers have striking bariotones? But only one is devastatingly handsome, and it's not the guy who died in a bathtub. it's the guy who died in a bathtub and came back to life to record this amazing song:
