I once told a music reviewer friend that Weird Al was a barometer for your relationship to popular music. The easier it is for you to identify what he's parodying, the more in tune you are to the mainstream. Hence, by the early 90s, I had a hard time discerning what was being played around with.
I was with him up until
Running with Scissors. now I have no idea what he's doing anymore.
I'm aware of his music after Off the Deep End, but I was Harder Core Than Thou by the next album, which I believe was Alapalooza.
That was my starting point too.
Well, that was my ending point. My starting point was hearing Eat It in like 1984.

Looking through his discography, it's kinda crazy how long Weird Al has been going at it, really.
