Receiver suggestions

Looking to buy a new stereo receiver. I'd like something that works well for the classics (CD player/turntable/etc.) but also has wi-fi/blootooth/streaming options. Maybe $500-ish price-point? I'd probably plug my TV into it and since my apartment is small, don't have the room/desire for a 5.1 surround system at this time, so don't really need a 5.1/7.1 receiver. Any recommendations around here? I'm almost ready to, ugh, check Steve Hoffman forums or something.
EDIT: clarification

You can add a Chromecast Audio for streaming features:

This is a great recommendation. Easy way to add streaming. Doing some research, it seems like maybe an integrated amplifier is a good way to go - don't really need the tuner so just getting a good stereo amp and then a chromecast audio would be stellar. Then I can spend a little more on the turntable, which is also badly in need of upgrading...

You've never given evidence of that here.

You have to mine the tungsten yourself.
