Because we need a place where we can be together, and be ourselves.

This Friday could be the last time I see Fat Mike alive. If he makes it to Friday.

Ahhhh, I can finally breathe. Don't know if I can say the same for Fat Mike though.

Actually, he's been documenting his detox on Twitter lately, but that worries me that he's going to overdo it when he gets back to business as usual and OD or something. Have you read the book yet?

I hate the Ramones but I don't hate Bad Religion. Really, I don't even hate the Ramones. I'm just bored numb by them.

I'm okay with NOFX for what they are a punk novelty act. A little goes a long way.

Yeah, I can listen for about 15-20 minutes and then I'm ready to listen to some Ramones or Bad Religion.

I dunno if they've really been a novelty act since - at the latest - 2003 (I think they made a pretty big shift in '94 with Punk in Drublic, which even though it's not my fave NOFX album it's pretty obviously a fully realized, sincere musical work). Not that there's anything wrong with not liking them, or only liking them in small doses. I actively disdained them through high school and college and it was only later that a flip switched and I dug what they were doing.

Anyways, the new songs sound good. Six Years on Dope has been getting heavy play on Faction and it took me a little while to get into it, but this is pretty strong material.

Addendum: And no, Kory, still haven't read the book yet. Really gotta do it. You and Still both gave it high recc's.

Lyrically, they're not one of my favorite bands, but they're unassailable as a musical unit. Compared to the monotony of most "skate punk," the diversity of sound/style they're capable of is fairly staggering.
