By the way, I sometimes play the first disc of a Bowie singles collection for Jackson when he's going to bed. He calls the whole CD "Ground Control."

So, as wonderful as I always thought the song was, I never had "Rebel Rebel" in my personal top 10 or anything, as it was the "famous one" and I could do better.........but post death I can't think of a song I like better. It's the one I want to scream in my car at the top of my lungs. I even bought a pin for my jacket.
It's that, but a pin, not a patch. Try to imagine it.

agree completely. I love it and love it even more in the album context, but was just tired of hearing it for years on the shit-rock stations, kinda like all those great Stones songs it so brilliantly copped that get played to death. (and "Satisfaction" even would never make my Stones top 20).tepista wrote:So, as wonderful as I always thought the song was, I never had "Rebel Rebel" in my personal top 10 or anything, as it was the "famous one" and I could do better.........but post death I can't think of a song I like better. Wow, I just listened to 'Images' last night, right after 'Ogdens' (I was in a playful mood I guess). Great minds and all that...
Listening to 'Lodger' right now (still in a playful mood!).

I'm thinking about Lazarus right now since I just scored opening night tix for Lazarus
David Bowie and Edna Walsh’s musical, Lazarus, ran off-Broadway in NYC and was also perfomed in London. The London production was filmed for a movie which will make its NYC premiere at Kings Theatre on May 2. Making this a very special one-night-only event, the film will be soundtracked LIVE by the seven-piece band that backed Michael C. Hall and the Lazarus cast during the original off-Broadway run.
