Day 20: Loretta Lynn - To Heck with Ole Santa Claus
Original Release: White Christmas Blue
Year: 2016
Actually, this is a re-recording of a song Lynn did in '66. This new album from Loretta Lynn is my pick for fave new Christmas album for 2016. There was some sessions with Lynn done at Johnny Cash's home studios and it resulted in a new studio album earlier this year and this Christmas album released a month or so ago. All worth a listen of you like Loretta Lynn's style of country music.
Original Release: At the Edge b/w Running Bear (Live) and White Christmas (Live)
Year: 1980
Pretty sure we haven't posted this yet, which surprises me. Classic punk Christmas.
Cripes, haven't heard this for years! Used to listen to this on the 'All the Best' 2 LP set in the winter of '83-'84. God, hearing it again really takes me back - those were grand years for me, aye. Cheers Flex.

Day 22: Darlene Love - Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
Original Release: A Christmas Gift for You from Philles Records
Year: 1963
Okay, it's time to step messing around. The consensus best Christmas song ever from probably the best Christmas record ever produced. Still incredibly evocative after all these years.
I've been waiting in line for like an hour an the post office to pick up packages. My favorite, most tedious part of the holiday season!
Day : Elvis Presley - Santa Claus is Back in Town/Blue Christmas
Original Release: Complete '68 Comeback Special
Year: 2008
The original release here is a bit of a misnomer. These recordings (from, obviously, 1968) have been released in various forms, and on bootlegs over the years. I think 2008 marks the first official release of these cuts though.
I know we did Elvis' Blue Christmas last year, but Elvis rules so we're doing it again.
