that Sharon Jones disc is so, so good. One of the best holiday releases in recent years, for sure.

25 Days of Christmas (Songs) - Day 16

The Brian Setzer Orchestra - Santa Drives a Hotrod

Original release: Dig That Crazy Christmas
Year: 2005

From BSO's second holiday offering. Somehow, Setzer manages to release consistently fun and cool seasonal albums and songs for, like, years on end. I saw his live Christmas show last year and it was an absolute blast. The dude know how to Rock and Roll with Santa, for sure.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

25 Days of Christmas (Songs) - Day 17

Soupy Sales - Santa Claus is Surfin' to Town

Original release: Santa Claus is Surfin' To Town b/w Santa Claus is Comin' to Town
Year: 1963

Let's keep the surfs up vibe going with this Soupy Sales novelty classic.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Next time we get a beer together, Bob, we're going to have to talk about how we're so good at Christmas music.

25 Day of Christmas (Songs) - Day 18

Joe Pesci - If It Doesn't Snow on Christmas

Original release: Vincent Laguardia Gambini Sings Just For You
Year: 1998

From the legendary concept album of the late 90s, this will surely warm the hearts of even the frostiest Doctor Medulla.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

No sign of Greg Lake yet?

Is there a history of Christmas songs charting in the US like there is over here? I only say that because Christmas songs like "When a Child Is Born" by Johnny Mathis and "Last Christmas" by Wham were smashes in the UK but did nothing in the States.
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Indeed, and we wouldnt have time to fully cover all the other things we're so good at.

VT is a great place in the summer. Winter too if you go for that sort of thing.

Oops, I didn't get online to post something yesterday. So we'll do a morning and afternoon selection.

25 Days of Christmas (Songs) - Day 19

Boss Martians - 3 Ghosts

Original release: Little Steven's Underground Garage Presents Christmas A Go-Go

Another selection from the excellent Christmas A Go-Go comp. Garage rockin' take on Dickens. Can't go wrong.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

25 Days of Christmas (Songs) - Day 20

Rufus Thomas - I'll Be Your Santa, Baby

Original release: I'll Be Your Santa, Baby b/w That Makes Christmas Day

The best Christmas song are innuendo soul classics, imho
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

25 Days of Christmas (Songs) - Day 21

The Chesterfield Kings - Hey Santa Claus

Original release: Christmas with the Kranks

How the fuck did this soundtrack produce so much good Christmas music? The mind boggles.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Tom Waits, "Silent Night" and "Christmas Card From a Hooker in Minneapolis" (1987 or so, I reckon).
Strong shoes is what we got and when they're hot they're hot!
- Marky Dread and his fabulous Screaming Blue Messiahs

Love the Waits cut.

25 Days of Christmas (Songs) - Day 22

The Electric Prunes - Jingle Bells

Original release: Little Steven's Underground Garage Presents Christmas A Go-Go
Year: 2008

Let's close out the year leaning into the Christmas A Go-Go cuts. 2017 sucked in so many ways, but maybe it can at least bring us a garage rock Christmas.
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
