Sirius and XM has both added the AC/DC channel with 24 hrs of AC/DC. That's OK, but it replaced the punk stations on both. 29 Punk, and Fungus are gone. I call bullshit. I wrote an angry email.

They said you can still hear you favorite artists such as Rancid and Ramones on "Faction" radio. I've heard Faction, it's stupid bro-rock with lots of Sublime and Eminen.

I'd been mostly hearing channel 19 BUZZSAW lately. It's "Classic Hard Rock" Scorpions, Priest, that kinda stuff. I've been in the mood for that shit.

Yeah...I don't actually have it in my car. I only listen to it when I'm borrowing Scott's car. I either listen to cd's or NPR -- I'm pretty damn boring (and such a social worker cliche).

Anti-Flag better sell their shares of Sirius before it becomes a delisted penny stock.

Even though I realize it's a paid record company infomercial, I actually like the all AC/DC station (I mean, all they play is AC/DC, hard to find fault there), although it would be better if they didn't play Thunderstruck three times in five hours. And if it didn't take over probably my most-listened-to music station on Sirius. The Punk channel will come back after this ACDC channel ends in a few weeks. It's too bad, right before this ACDC channel started, the Punk channel added a bunch of new songs to their playlist. Not as many as they should but a step in the right direction.

The Punk channel is (was) my soundtrack for work driving more often than not (once Stern's done, anyway) but there is some extremely lazy programming there. Fifteen Anti-Flag songs in rotation, and ONE X song (Los Angeles)? Ridiculous...Not to mention that the only two Fugazi songs they'll play are Waiting Room and Styrofoam - a nice gesture I guess, but just two songs - why do they even bother? And "legacy" bands with 10+ albums like Bad Religion are limited to the same ten or fifteen songs over and over in heavy rotation. If I was their program director, and I was restricted to their "shuffled playlist" format (i.e. no DJs) I'd throw every BR album into a Winamp playlist and delete junk like Quality Or Quantity and most of the No Substance album, and all the weird outliers like the early EPs and the entire Into The Unknown album that don't fit the format. Then I'd do that for the rest of the "legacy" punk bands (Ramones, NOFX) and throw entire crucial albums into the shuffler from punk bands whose entire catalogs don't necessarily fit the format (First Four Years, Bad Brains s/t, Inflammable Material, et al). And if there's absolutely a need to have that new Anti-Flag single played five times a day in heavy rotation for a few weeks, that's cool, but there's no reason I should hear a 20 year old song like Bad Religion's "Big Bang" played three times within two days when they have 25 years of songs to choose from.

I wish you were the program director. I'm just worried the punk channel won't come back. When they did Rolling Stones Radio a few months ago, they put it on Chanel 12, Super Shuffle. Anyone who listens to Super Shuffle is an idiot, maybe background music at SuperCuts or something. Why on 29 is my problem.

Every time one of these satellite threads comes up, it reaffirms my opinion about how much better XM's punk station is compared to Sirius.
