Jackyl. More than 30 years of Jackyl.
I know nothing about Jackyl, but I do remember sometime in the early 90s, I saw a video of theirs and one of the guys was wearing a Dead Kennedys shirt. I was confused.
Whenever I come across Jackyl, I now default to this Patton Oswalt routine that references them.
He's such a gem.

One of my absolute favorite P.O. bits and, yeah, exactly what I think of when I hear or see Jackyl.

Addendum: I think I need to start incorporating "thanks, night ranger!" into the lexicon

And, of course, I see Night Ranger are still drawing paying customers wherever expectations are low.

That is one cursed tour itinerary.

Also, how far a drive from St. Louis to Des Moines? Asking for a Van Hagar.

Start thinking of which Night Ranger song you want to let them know changed your life. And enjoy the VIP laminate.

Imagine being a person who knows a Night Ranger song beyond "Sister Christian."

If Night Ranger covered it, I would give it a listen. My ethics can be compromised.

Growing up in the 80s and being aware of the charts made that difficult to avoid. It's another good counter-example whenever someone says, "The music was better in the 80s."

While I really enjoy a lot of music from the 80s, Im pretty sure the charts sucked then as they continue to do now

I won't exaggerate things, but I think conditions in the music industry made it more likely for strange music to occasionally poke thru more than now. That's always the trap to avoid, that one period produces superior music in an aesthetic sense. Instead, think about socio-economic conditions and the structure and health of the music industry to allow or disallow diversity.
