I liked the home made stuff I used to get but out and about, it often just looks like vomit. You'd see some huge guy, fresh from 15 pints of lager in the pub, monstering a kebab and the slaw falling out the sides, dribbling down his chin and all the way down to his Y Fronts, meshing with his unwashed pubes.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Sep 2024, 5:46pmIt could be good but it always seems to be drenched in creamy dressing.

Maybe Cray needs to spend time backstage to see how Clapton treats the caterers.revbob wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 11:55amRobert Cray on cutting ties with Eric Clapton: “I’d rather not associate with somebody who’s on the extreme and being so selfish”

Conversation at the bar the other day. Some guy is talking to the bartender about some hippie bamd he saw recently, bartender rightly told him he couldn't stand that band. Im chatting with bartender later and mention Im going to see PJ Harvey. Hippie guy asks "who is that?"
I distill it down to simplest terms for guy saying 90s alt rock. Which leads him to ask if Im going to see Toad the Wet Sprocket and the Gin Blossoms who are playing the fair and tbat he's really excited about it. I politely said it wasn't really my scene followed by some awkward silence.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Cray says, in response to his email about this questionable comparison, Clapton defended the lyrics: “His reaction back to me was that he was referring to slaves from, you know, England from way back.”WestwayKid wrote: ↑16 Sep 2024, 9:53amGood ole' Eric "Ku Klux" Clapton...Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 11:59amMaybe Cray needs to spend time backstage to see how Clapton treats the caterers.revbob wrote: ↑15 Sep 2024, 11:55amRobert Cray on cutting ties with Eric Clapton: “I’d rather not associate with somebody who’s on the extreme and being so selfish”

The Washington Post states: “That didn’t satisfy Cray.”
That seems like a reasonable reaction.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.
