That's it I think for the comps.
Maybe Flex is referring to the reissues with no extra tracks. Or maybe he's meaning the Pistols as well.

On the later albums Happy? and 9 a lot of those tracks would be improved if they didn't have those female backing singers. The arrangements suck.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑14 Aug 2018, 8:32pmDisc 8: Think Tank - Demo, Rough Mixes and Remixes, Alternate Takes, and In-Depth DiscussionKory wrote: ↑14 Aug 2018, 8:03pmOh yeah, I forgot about those. Happy?, 9, and TWIN all suffer from being trend-followers. They're generic alternative pop records informed by the styles of the time. Some listenable songs in there, but nothing that really stands out as an example of what makes PiL significant. It's also a big reason why those albums haven't aged well at all.Marky Dread wrote: ↑15 Aug 2018, 12:45pmOn the later albums Happy? and 9 a lot of those tracks would be improved if they didn't have those female backing singers. Interestingly Lu Edmunds says Happy? and 9 were ruined by production. He says the finished albums sound like different records than what he played on.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑15 Aug 2018, 12:59pmHappy?, 9, and TWIN all suffer from being trend-followers. Well, that's a not uncommon assessment of a lot of mid to late 80s records, so I wouldn't dismiss him out of hand on that.Marky Dread wrote: ↑15 Aug 2018, 1:03pmInterestingly Lu Edmunds says Happy? and 9 were ruined by production. This one deserves a special place in hell for being a singles comp...but then spitefully substituting the "This Is Not A Love Song" single for the TIWYW... album version with the stupid horns to short the amount of Levene heard on record to a barest minimum.

Re: Public Image Limited
I'll agree the TIWYWTIWYG version sucks big time. Athough that comp did have that remix of "Rise" which was unavailable elsewhere at the time I think. What was just as sinful was that Plastic Box also contained that fucking horrible version of "Love Song". Spite maybe or maybe John just feels his version is better. It was good enough to release it as a single and 12'' at the time with the great "Blue Water" the real single in my book and a reissue of "Public Image". I remember thinking when I bought the album how I couldn't wait to get home and give it a spin after liking the 12'' so much and owning the Commercial Zone semi legit release. But boy what a monumental Cut the Crap moment when the needle hit the grooves. I think it has 3 decent tracks on it "Tie Me to the Length of That", "1981" and "The Order of Death". Which in PiL's defence is just under half the album (the lazy fuckers). All the tracks on Commercial Zone work well and has a cohesive feel about it with that stripped back sound. Whereas TIWYWTIWYG sounds like they just gave up and threw in everything including the kitchen sink.Rat Patrol wrote: ↑15 Aug 2018, 11:49pmThis one deserves a special place in hell for being a singles comp...but then spitefully substituting the "This Is Not A Love Song" single for the TIWYW... album version with the stupid horns to short the amount of Levene heard on record to a barest minimum.

Marky, I hate to bother you with this, but do you have a downloadable version of what we might consider the "final" CZ? I have a couple versions, I think in various levels of completion and I don't know which is which.Marky Dread wrote: ↑16 Aug 2018, 5:42amI'll agree the TIWYWTIWYG version sucks big time. Also, I think everything after "Solitaire" is good.
