I know theres only a few but I cannot stop listening to Bradford and Dublin and I'd love to hear more. They sound so tight as a group, and I've never heard Mick's vocals sound so good. I mean, V Thirteen from Bradford is probably the best I've ever heard Mick.
I'm in full agreement, Mick never sounded better, such a shame he fell ill not long afterwards.
It really is sad. I think that if they had another year with Mick's voice that great, they would've been even bigger. What I really found interesting from these is how they really stick to the album on the Tighten Up songs. Rock Non Stop stays the same, Walker Said has very little variation, and Just Play Music sticks pretty well, but with an extended ending. I think Just Play Music surprised me the most because there really isn't all that much of a change. What I do love is the samples in between songs. It adds something interesting which you don't really ever hear from a band.

This is a great show. Crowd could be a bit more into it, but they sound amazing. But what do you expect, they are playing a festival so theres a lot of people there who aren't aware of them.

Its always a shock to me to go from listening to 86-88 gigs to Megatop gigs. Beatbox always makes me sad in a way because the song is a bit too much Mick to sing and you can tell that he is struggling a bit. But that doesn't take away how good they sound in 89.

Well yeah, Mick took his time before he admit how his illness make him weak. But you just have to listen to the shows to understand it.

The band get to reinvent themself in a way
and they did in a cool way
still i prefer listen to the megatop tracks in 1989 some other like c'mon everybeatbox are less interesting

I really dig their "acid" way

We must restore BAD to the throne and route the republican menace.
I feel that there is a fascistic element, for example, in the Rolling Stones . . .

I've studied the phenomenon of neo-provincialism in self-isolating online communities but this place takes the fucking cake.

The 89 gigs have a lot of charm to them. Mick's lower octave voice fits him really well, and I think it sounds great. Just Play Music to me works perfectly with his lower voice. His little "Just play that music, I wont refuse it..." section sounds soulful now. There are the few where he tries to stretch it a bit and its noticeable that it isn't what it used to be, but you have to give him the credit for trying and still getting it to sound pretty good. I noticed that with the New Jersey college gig, that stuff like E=MC2, he doesn't go high for the chorus and for Beatbox, he tries to stay low for the whole song. My theory being that he was kind of nervous about it. He probably thought he would crack and it wouldn't sound good. Anyways, stuff like Baby, and Green Lady sound great. House Arrest is killer live. That huge booming bass and Dan's little synthy parts sound so good. That's one song I go to first every time I listen to an 89 gig. One last little note, Sightsee MC as the opener is pretty interesting. Its something you wouldn't think of, but it works really well. I would've expected Rewind to be the opener. Did they ever play Rewind live in 89?

Saw a new song here that I'd never heard before called "Lost Kid" - was looking forward to it despite it's short running length. Not much of a tune, was it :-)

A bit hard to describe this in english but
all the gigs needs to have a hard EQ treatment to cut some distorted frequency
After that in general i works with a multiband compressor
you often needs to use a program to repare the stereo image (to open it most of the time)
About the stereo I experimenting to add some reverb effect too sometimes it works well
And at the end i boost the sound and i also use a limiter sometimes

I know I'm late on this but this one has my favourite version of "A Party"

I love the bit at 6:42 when Mick says "Don..." but Don doesn't hear so he shouts it: "DON! Show me how to do the ay-ay-ays"
