Derek Harris has sent me a tape of this Sort It Out tour gig which to my ears is an upgrade on the existing. Both are from the same audience recording. This is at least one analogue copy off the master and loses four songs - all of which were affected on the original circulating source. Also loses most of Jail Guitar Doors. Cheapskates is complete so by combining both recordings you can make your own complete version of this memorable gig.
Derek has now let a number of his tapes come into circulation and is due a big vote of thanks here. He is in contrast with the few exasperating, frankly sad tossers out there with recordings they still won't share. Shame on them.
Well done to Matedog et al for reviving the Clash Megalist and sharing all this material - which is surely what this Forum should be about.
The link contains the whole of Derek's tape transferred to digital unadorned with any sound processing/editing etc in flac. Any problem with links etc let me know. Enjoy
Peter

Cool, thanks.
Re: Manchester Apollo 23rd November 1978 upgrade
Thanks! It sounds like a minor upgrade. Still pretty rough though. Looking forward to more updates.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Does anyone here still have this? I have the crappier version and didn't realize there was an upgrade
