Re: Spending too much time thinking about the Stones' discography...

Tumbling Dice has some of Keith's best rhythm work. It's sublime. If I had to pick a #1 Stones song, that would be it It's top-3 for me. I like Tumbling Dice but that lead vocal is waaaay too low in the mix, to the point it angers me a little. Get a live version, Mick will holler all over that shit...

There hip hop sets and non-hiphop. I remember getting this card and I still have no fucking clue who this dork is:

I saw him supporting Big Audio Dynamite in 1989. Havana 3am were also on the bill. A queasy mix.

Re: Patriots Of The Wasteland box set.

I've only listened to Out Of Control so far but it sounds absolutely fantastic with Joe's vocals clear and present. It shows how good his singing was on this album. Some new lyrical surprises as well. "She double-glazed herself away!" Absolutely fantastic. Ps. I'm getting the same drum issues at the...

Re: Carbon Silicon I Loved You

It's years since I listened to them. A "best" of with some judicious edits would be great. Agree. When I'm finished with my current project then maybe we could all chip in with some tracks selections and acceptable time lengths etc. And I'll work on a nice comp. 😎 As if by magic, a Marky appeared. ;)

Re: IMCT Running Club

So today I joined the annual pilgrimage of 60,000 people that run from Newcastle to South Shields to pay homage to Heston, also known as the Great North Run. It was very hot so my only goal was to survive the experience. I am pleased to report that I achieved my goal! After I had finished and I was...

Re: IMCT Running Club

Thanks all. No, Heston wasn’t there, or at least I don’t think so, I’m sure he can confirm, but I think Panic Report were playing a festival. I think they performed alongside the run one year in the past. Well done mate. I watched some of it on the bbc. I did see Heston break the record of the fast...
