Re: Marky Dread Remasters

Paradiso and Sun-Plaza both sound great, Marky. Paradiso is extra special as MJ sings Complete Control. The Tokyo radio/TV stuff has never sounded this good. Is Should I Stay really audience? Sounds more like the broadcast stuff than the other audience songs.

Re: Marky Dread Remasters

100 Club from August has never sounded better. Especially the drums. Thank you once again.

Re: Marky Dread Remasters

The '83 "tour" had great setlists. It was like the Clash's imperial phase, except it only lasted a few weeks! I also prefer Topper, but agree that Pete was very good.

Re: Strummer 001

I've always thought, though his post-Clash work is far less consistent, a post-Clash Joe comp would be a much better and richer experience than Mick's. This box does prove both points though - it's pretty hit or miss on the outtakes, but the career highlights is a hell of a compilation. Huh. Why co...

Re: Clash Film

I hadn’t heard about Mr. Fletcher’s comments. I see now he said we’d have to wait ten years for it. The issue will always be that the group controls its publishing, and so it’s necessary to have their blessings to use their original songs. I vaguely recall reading about some unauthorized project usi...

Re: Clash Film

Jez never actually wrote a script. Dexter Gordon? The Saxophonist? When my dad was young he used to manage him.

Re: B.A.D. Observations Thread

Dial A Hitman is great beginning to end. Ticket isn’t my favorite, and Limbo is good but not great. Dog in a Satellite would have been preferable, if indeed it was “ready” to go (seeing as they never did finish it). Tighten Up has a couple lesser tracks as well.

Love the artwork on this one, with the white background, and using Joe’s skinhead look.

This is such a great song. Everything about it hits me in the right place.

It's a joy. This, All Saints Road and Hip, Neck and Thigh are near perfect to me.
Those are my favorite three on the album as well, along with Other 99.

The concert was broadcast on 864khz Medium wave and is affected by 2 heterodynes (...

I enjoyed the book a lot when I read it. I should pull it out of the archives for a re-read.

I'm curious about this title. Is it made out of cocaine or something?

Wow! Should I sell mine? 🤫

(re Chris’s X-Files book, which is quite good)
