Mick brings back the short echo repeat on the intro to Man That is Dynamite, very Bottom Libe
Seems unlikely it was ever accompanied by the same cheer.
Especially as they only played it maybe twice.

Mick brings back the short echo repeat on the intro to Man That is Dynamite, very Bottom Line. Earlier he assayed something similar during Bankrobber live from Bonds.

Re: My semi-annual plea for Rat Patrol, part 27

Did Joe reject the Mix because he didnt like it or was it bernies Input? LIkely both. In any case, the OP could have been written by me. I'm all for this, but I know Mick feels icky about releasing it without Joe's approval. This really doesn't make a great deal of sense as Sound System saw the rel...

Re: Marky Dread Remasters

Nice one (s) Marky! Looking forward! Great artwork, as usual, but these photo choices especially! Mick and I touched on the Medicine Show promo shoot today, an offshoot of remembering the Florida leg of the MTV Tour in ‘92. The thought of Johnny L. reminded me of when he tried to stab Gerry Harringt...

Happy BDay Mick

It was Mick’s birthday today (26th). He’s in fine fettle, sheltering in place at home.

Re: F-Punk Remixed

It’s good to hear the vocals more clearly. One of the main issues with the album mix/recording is that everything (guitars, vocals, drums) are in the same high-mid register. That defies a basic rock mixology rule. Often that’s mitigated against with different reverb lengths, EQ, and stereo placement...

Re: F-Punk Remixed

Hello, This album sounds much cleaner than the original. I still think it's a Mick Jones solo record rather than a BAD record (although to an extent you could say this about a few BAD records). I't more guitar-ish, less dance track oriented, etc. I'm not being very specific here but it's that way. ...

Re: F-Punk Remixed

Agreed that those are the four best songs. They did basically record much of the album live, with live drums. As for Mick’s vocals, I think the issue is the keys the songs are done in. Mick sang in his lower register for a lot of the album and didn’t double track a higher pitched voice like he had o...

I don’t know how Joe got it, but I do know that at one point around that time Johnny sold his for drug money. I’m sure it wasn’t Joe he sold it to.

Re: 1976 Show - October 27th at Barbarella's Birmingham

I think Steve sold one of those "girly picture" Les Pauls to Gerry Harrington, who knew it wasn't the original one. They were friends. Also, I once played a gig with Chequered Past. Steve played a regular issue Les Paul, no pedals, and set his guitar volume, tone knobs, and the Marshall amp dials a...

I love this! Looks like he borrowed Leo's bass too :)
Never seen this. Very nice. Fred/Ian Rubbish’s single “It’s A Lovely Day” is a spot on pastiche of Carbon/Silicon.

Re: Fred Armisen on The Clash

First return to to Electric Lady studios post-Combat Rock that day, with Fred as Ian Rubbish. We had a brilliant time. I wish we could get a copy of all they recorded, as they only used a bit. Fred played drums and guitar. Mick overdubbed a backwards guitar solo on London Calling. Fred did the inter...
