Re: Thread O'Booze REVISED!
I had a friend in high school in the 80s who was an absolute Bryan Adams fanatic. He had a black mullet with short spiky gelled top, walked around in a Leafs windbreaker, and his favorite hobby was shoplifting. One redeeming quality amongst so much awful. He mostly grabbed tapes, including those lo...

Also, while Canada covers a lot of territory the major population centers are mostly in the southern part of the country and not far from the US border and make up a fraction of the entire land mass.

Re: Thread O'Booze REVISED!
I have no favourite Canadian bands. That isn't getting at Canada, they just have no good bands. I would have pegged you as a Loverboy fan, and of the less adventurous Rush material. I do like about 4 Rush songs. I tried to get into them as a young heavy rocker, but his absurd voice and their 13 min...

Even better than Loverboy. Now I know you're joking. Okay, you got me. They're not quite as good as Loverboy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsgBpsNPQ50&ab_channel=LoverboyVEVO (One of those songs that is definitely crappy, but it's actually become kinda fun with time. The "Two Princes" of the 80s...

Re: Heston and Marky's Friday Top 5
Top 5 tracks from "World Service" - Spear of Destiny 1. Mickey 2. Up All Night 3. World Service 3. Come Back 4. All My Love (Ask Nothing) A band I need to investigate for sure. Is that a good album to start with? The name has always turned me off as I associate the "spear of destiny" as part of the...

Re: Thread O'Booze REVISED!
A lot of fans rate it the best—I certainly do—but it's not like they've produced a bum record. Earlier stuff is more musique concrète oriented, but Allelujah marked a shift to more "song-oriented" work. I'd recommend Yanqui UXO and Luciferian Towers as the next two to sample ( Yanquiu was the first...

That, too. But being old means practicing more. Ooof. Glad that you're still employed, but sorry that you're bearing the brunt of that loss of co-workers. (You should listen to Godspeed tonight. :shifty: ) I did listen to that album finally. I'm surprised it hadn't been recommended to me before, I ...

OR you're just not drinking to this level quite regularly enough. You're just not used to it. That, too. But being old means practicing more. I'm expecting a similar hangover tomorrow morning. Since my org laid off a bunch of people (including my dev partner) there seems to be a deficit of understa...
